Key Parenting Tips For Raising a Strong Girl.

Parents of girl child should know these key parenting tips. #parentingtips

I was being brought up in a family where girls and boys were given equal rights. I never felt any discrimination from my parents for being a girl in the family.

My parents provided all the comforts and facilities as my brothers had so, whenever I come across the incidents about discrimination among boys and girls in the society and houses I feel despondent.

Let us notice a few peculiar characteristics of people in society on their belief, affection and love,

1 People worship God and Goddesses because they believe that they are the creators of the universe.

2 People have affection and respect for their birthplace.

3.People give immense love and care to the mundane world like cars, houses and other assets people own.

Now if we think critically, what should be the ideal characteristics of humans?

1. People should worship the teachings of God/Goddesses

2. People should have affection and respect to all forms of life like animals, plants and other humans

3.People should give immense love and care to the feelings, thought process and creativity rather than materialistic things.

Now when we say about the creator of this world, what is the first thing that comes to our mind?

It is “mother” – A Woman. #motherhood

But there is a surprising fact that the women who are the creators of the human race get exploited by a particular segment of the society.

The women who give birth, nurture and bring up the human race have been tortured and mistreated by a section of society for ages.

Can we imagine a world with no womanhood?

Will it be possible for the human race to survive for more than hundred years without a woman on the planet?

The answer is a big ‘No.’

The woman has been the driving the life on earth since the ages.

This is shameful that women are considered as the weaker and dependent section of society. A few people treat the women as slaves.

They do not value women’s emotions and abilities.

If we study the global history of womanhood, we will come to know some astonishing facts about how the women have been tortured for centuries which continues in the same way even now.

Firstly,  For the century, girls who were barely at the end adolescence were forced into marriage. They were married to a person who was many years older to her.

She was forced to marry a person whom she did not love. Such practices stand the same in a particular segment of the society.

Secondly, The girl child faced female genital mutilation rituals in many countries. It was an act of violence and it was against human rights.

Thirdly, girls are traded across National borders as commodities. They are used as prostitutes and slaves.

Fourthly, girls continue to face sexual harassment and abuse in workplaces and schools.

Fifthly, their lives can be taken for the honour of their families for speaking to strangers or going into the marriage of their own choices.

Sixthly, Girls have been victimised even before their birth. As the technology has provided the tools to the prenatal sex selection, the abortions are reported by their gender selection.

In the era, where women have beaten men in almost all the fields we know. We have to consider that a mindset for raising a girl child has to be stronger than a boy child.

Here are few parenting tips for dealing with life situations for the upbringing of a girl child.

First of all, the mothers in this world need to respect their womanhood.

Mothers, unless you feel honoured for yourself and womanhood, you will not be able to justify the true spirit of motherhood to your child.

Boys are preferred more over girl child. They do not welcome a girl child with the same enthusiasm as they would have in the case of a boy child.

For example, the day a couple reveals their happiness to the world about expecting a child, the very first wish they receive from their family is “May God bless you with a baby boy.”

Such kind of belief is still prevalent nowadays. The reason for this discrimination is because of the wrong beliefs of woman itself.

This is because she has been trained since the childhood that being a mother of a boy child is a matter of prestige compared to become a mother of a girl child.

The day she feels proud of herself, the female child will be welcomed with the same enthusiasm as of boy child.

Ladies, think about it if your mother accepts you and greets you with her heart and soul who else you would need to accept you.

You will conquer the world if your mother is behind you with her full support and unconditional love.

So, be proud of being a woman.

You are everything for your child. You do not need anyone else’s approval to be a proud mother of a girl child.

Second, In a few families, people believe that only boys can take the family’s name to future generations.

They think that the daughters become the part of different families after marriage.

So the daughter’s achievements and the next generation will not carry their family’s name.

Do the people remember their great-grandfather everyday? Sometimes people do not even remember their names.

Third, Parents need to use their wisdom and think about it. Parents need to understand that the gender discrimination is the creation of those people who we do not know.

Fourth, Dowry is also a big issue for parents. However, if the people in society and especially the young generation become against this practice, they will not face dowry problem at the time of marriage.

Parents should make their daughters financially independent so that they would not compromise and marry a boy who demands the dowry.

Fifth, Apart from general education parents should arrange some special education to make their daughters physically and mentally healthy.

Apart from this, girls should learn self-defense techniques and also learn how to remain mentally strong in case they go through some mishap in the life.

Sixth, you can give sex education in the early stage so that they can realise something unusual happening with them in families and the school as well.

In adition to above, Parents can ask the school authorities to arrange some special classes for girls to understand defence mechanism and provide sex education relevant for their age.

Here are few Inspiring Indian females whose parents and they themselves can be a source of inspiration for you as a parent for the upbringing of a girl child.
